First thing you want to do is call Goshen Asphalt. The first step we take is to repairing cracks in your driveway is to clean it very thoroughly. To do this we use a quality concentrated cleaner that you can either concoct or purchase from a store. We can also use detergent to clean it. It is better to do this on a day that is warmer than usual because it will be better for retaining moisture. Take your cleaner and clean the entire driveway. We also want to get out any material this inside of the cracks. We will use something thin and sharp to dig through the cracks and get any weeds or stubborn material out as well. Next, we will need to use a push broom and get any remaining standing water off of the surface. It is good for the driveway to be damp, but it isn’t good to have excessive water. This will ruin your crack repair.
Once this has been cleaned, we get ready to put the crack repair inside. If the cracks are deeper than an inch, use some sand and put it inside of the crack to bring it up to about an inch within the surface. Make sure you do this in weather that it at least 50 degrees in temperature and that is isn’t going to rain or freeze within the next 24 hours. Once we apply your crack repair, we use a blade to smooth out the surface. This should cure within 24 hours after application.
